Presenting at ETech

I'll be presenting a session titled "Python in your Pocket" at the O'Reilly Emerging Technology Conference on March 16 (1:45pm - 2:30pm, Plaza Room B.)

The summary goes something like this: "Mobile computing is no longer the sole domain of the professional programmer. Scripting tools like Python put the power of the mobile platform within reach of sophisticated consumers and enterprise developers looking for rapid prototypes and proofs of concept. This presentation will discuss Nokia's recent introduction of Python support for Series 60 smartphones. We'll show you what's possible today, give you a glimpse into the future, and provide you with tools you can take home and put to work."

While the presentation will definitely feature Python for Series 60, the current plan also includes a brief look at the device capabilities coming in the new Series 60 Developer Platform 3rd Edition, along with a quick mention of a few additional new development technologies that make mobile application development more approachable then ever.

If you're at the conference and interested in Python for Series 60 (or simply hacking on your mobile phone) please drop by -- I'd love to hear your thoughts on the project!
