Shortly after my Apache and mod_python for S60 post where I geeked out on the possibility of running a web development process involving bluetooth file synchronization and an on-phone webserver, it occurred to me that a simpler solution might just be to pick up an N80 (or similar phone) that does wifi. Once on the local network, the phone’s browser could simply hit Apache running on my Mac. Not only does this still by-pass the need for a data plan, it also means that debugging the server-side and/or AJAX’y stuff would be more doable. Running a local webserver still rules for geek points, but sometimes “simpler” is simpler.
