Flock, a Firefox-derived web browser with integrated blogging, flickr‘ing, and del.icio.us‘ing tools, has launched, and is now available for public preview on Mac OS X, Linux, and Windows.

The preview release is not without a few glitches, and I certainly hope a few of the features will be polished up a bit more, but overall it’s an impressive take at pushing the browser, as an application, forward, and the new features work well enough to see a vision of a web browser the encourages the read-write web. Of course, once these concepts prove themselves, it’s reasonable to assume that some of these ideas will trickle back into the main Firefox code, which hopefully negates the need to run a separate browser just to get these features.
